Alexandre Perrier lived and worked in Geneva. He appeared in Paris exhibitions (Salon de Paris) and was awarded a bronze medal in 1900 during the Exposition Universelle in Paris. Because of the technique he used in his mountainscapes of the Alps, the Jura and (notably) Mont du Salève,
