Flavien Louis Peslin was a pupil of Alexandre Cabanel at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He later settled in Pont-Aven. Peslin exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1870. He painted mainly market places and interiors of inns and took his inspiration from Brittany.
