Born 23 February 1850, in Husum (Schleswig-Holstein); died 18 June 1914, in Munich.

Painter, pastellist. Harbour scenes, seascapes.

Hans von Petersen trained at Düsseldorf academy and in London. He travelled to America, to the Indies and Africa, later settling in Munich. He was awarded a medal in Berlin during a collective exhibition, and another at the 1900 Exposition Universelle.
