Painter, miniaturist, engraver (mezzotint).

William Pether, cousin of Abraham Pether, was a pupil of Thomas Frye and painted oil and miniature portraits. He also engraved many subjects after Rembrandt. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1764 to 1794 and was a member of the Free Society of Artists.
