Friedrich Johann Pfannschmidt was the son of Carl Gottfried Pfannschmidt. He trained in Berlin and was the pupil of Johannes Schilling at the fine art academy in Dresden. He executed the War Memorial in Eisenach and the Statue of Kaiser Wilhelm
