Born 25 December 1824, in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland); died 27 November 1911, in Berlin.

Painter, illustrator, lithographer, art writer. Portraits, genre scenes.

Pietsch attended the art academy in Berlin and studied under Swiss painter Charles Gleyre in Paris. He settled in Berlin. Pietsch produced Portrait of the Empress Augusta and many newspaper illustrations.
