Born 15 June 1817, in Livorno; died 11 January 1876, in Florence.

Painter, draughtsman. Religious subjects, battles, figures.

Pollastrini was taught by Giuseppe Bezzuoli, although his artistic education consisted mainly of his study of the old masters. He was subsequently appointed as professor and then chairman of the Accademia in Florence. He was both a fine colourist and an able draughtsman.
