Frederick William Pomeroy studied under Aimé-Jules Dalou in London and attended the Royal Academy Schools; he studied under Antonin Mercié in Paris, and then in London again under Lord Frederick Leighton. In 1906 he was elected a Royal Academician, and he lived and worked in London;
