Born c. 1484, in Pordenone (Friuli); died 1539, in Ferrara.

Painter, fresco artist. History painting.

Venetian School.

Pordenone initially studied in Udine under Pellegrino di San Daniello but, like many artists of his generation, he found his major inspiration in the works of Giorgione and, as others before him and since, proceeded to imitate the latter's work, knowingly or otherwise.
