Cuban, 20th century, male.

Sculptor.

Porro was an architect. He was known mostly for his schools of art in Havana, projects which Fidel Castro had conferred upon him at the beginning of the Revolution. He taught in Havana, Caracas and in Paris. His sculptures, like his architecture, are marked by a specifically Cuban sensuality, characterised by zoomorphic allusions and free interpretations of the human body.
