Born 9 July 1812, in Düsseldorf; died 14 March 1878, in Frankfurt.

Painter, watercolourist, engraver (etching). Landscapes.

After attending the academy in Düsseldorf, Eduard Wilhelm Pose travelled through the Austrian mountains, Belgium, Paris and Italy. Influenced by Lessing, his most noteworthy works are Ruins of the Monastery at Halberstadt and Mountain Lake. Some of his original engravings are also extant.
