Very little information is available concerning Ferdinando Quaglia. Bryan's Dictionary states, in error, that he was born in Spain and given the name Fernando. A remarkable artist, his miniatures possess an expressive quality reminiscent of the works of Goya. Quaglia settled in Paris in
