Claude Ramay was the father of Étienne Ramey and pupil of Desvoges and of Gois the Elder. He won first Grand Prix for sculpture in 1782 with his Parable of the Good Samaritan. He exhibited statues and busts at the Salon between 1793 and 1827. He was
