[not available online]Alexandre Rapin was a pupil of Gérôme and Lancrenon. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1867 and was awarded a bronze medal in 1875 and a silver medal in 1877. Rapin was a founder member of the Société des Artistes Français.
