Kristjan Raud studied at St Petersburg academy from 1892 to 1897, under P. Jansen at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie (1897-98) and with W. Dietz and P. Halm at the Munich Akademie der Bildenden Künst (1899-1903). In 1914 he became director of the
