Born 1870, in Candé (Maine-et-Loire); died 1956, in Savigny-sur-Braye (Loir-et-Cher).

Painter. Figures, portraits, landscapes, still-lifes.

Jeanne Rij-Rousseau left her family, which was from Maine-et-Loire, in 1884, at the age of 14. She moved to St-Ouen and, in around 1890, spent time with the Grande Jatte and Montmartre painters. At the same time she became acquainted with the Nabis, who taught her painting.
