Born 19 June 1804, in Vienna; died 13 July 1869, in St-Steyr.

Painter, architect.

Roesner was a pupil at the Kunstakademie in Vienna. He went to Rome, where he worked with Cornelius, Overbeck, Steinle and Thorvaldsen. After returning to Vienna, he became acting professor at the academy of architecture in 1826, and professor in 1835.
