Theodor was the younger brother of Johann Heinrich Roos. He was a pupil of Cornelis de Bie. He worked with his brother Philipp at the castle of Hesse Kassel, in Ryntoelh, in Stuttgart and in Strasbourg. In 1659, he was invited to the Mannheim Court and painted several portraits there.
