Edmond Rudaux was the father of Henri Edmond Budaux. He was the student of Lanielle, Leclaire and Boulanger. He first exhibited at the Salon of 1863.

He mainly produced works with genre subjects. He illustrated various books, such as Loti's Icelandic Fisherman and M. Taconet's Along the Paths.
