Daniel Saint was a student of Jean-Baptiste Regnault, Jean-Baptiste Augustin and Aubry. He exhibited at the Salon from 1804 to 1839, obtaining a second-class medal in 1806 and a first-class medal in 1808; he was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur
