Henry Salt studied in Lichfield. He accompanied Lord Valentia on his voyage to India and Sri Lanka, as well as areas that are now in Ethiopia and Eritrea. In 1802, assuming responsibility for the illustrations included in the latter's account of his travels published in 1809. Salt was
