Born 20 June 1717, in Valenciennes; died 4 May 1776, in Paris.

Sculptor, engraver (etching).

Saly was the pupil of Pater, and of Gilis in Valenciennes and Coustou the Younger in Paris. He won the Prix de Rome in 1738, and stayed in Italy from 1740 to 1748. He became a member of the Académie de Peinture et Sculpture in Paris in 1751,
