Alexander Schneider was a student at the fine arts academy in Dresden from 1889 to 1892. He was professor at the fine arts school in Weimar from 1904 to 1908, and then spent time in Florence and Dresden. Schneider's work was influenced by Titian, Cornelius, Klinger and Böcklin. He painted
