Giovanni Antonio Maria dal Sole was a pupil in the school of Francesco Albani, and an excellent landscapist. He always worked left-handed, which earned him the nickname 'Il mancino dei Paesi'. His legacy includes prints, religious subjects, battle scenes and portraits. He was the father of Giovanni Giuseppe dal Sole.
