Born 28 June 1826, in Deva; died 21 April 1888, in Budapest.
Painter, lithographer.
Elek Szamossy was the father of Laszlo Szamossy. He studied in Vienna with Charles Rahl, and also in Venice. He painted many portraits, several of which are in museums in Budapest and Timisoara.
