Born 28 September 1834, in Zittau; died 16 January 1887, in Dresden.

Painter. Landscapes.

Thomas studied at the academy in Dresden and with Ludwig Richter. He was awarded a medal in 1863, a travel scholarship in 1864, and a commendation in 1868. In 1884 he became a professor of landscape painting at the Simonson Academy in Dresden.
