The son of Johann Friedrich Weitsch, Friedrich Georg Weitsch was the pupil of Wilh. Tischbein in Kassel in 1776. In 1784 he went to Italy with his younger brother, the painter Joh. Anton August. In 1787 he was appointed Painter
