Italian collector and dealer. He began his collecting career in Barcelona as a philatelist but after moving to Rome in 1918 he concentrated on paintings and sculptures, especially those by Italian Old Masters. He worked with Roberto Longhi until about 1950, then mainly with Bernard Berenson. In the USA Contini did business with Felix Warburg, Solomon Guggenheim and Samuel Henry Kress, with whom he had continuous dealings from 1927 to 1941, selling through Berenson
