Flemish painter, active in England. He was the son of a sculptor, Valentin Lanscroon, who worked as a carver at Chatsworth House, Derbys, in 1695–6; he probably came to England with his father in 1677. Lanscroon is first mentioned at Windsor Castle in a warrant dated 16 November 1678 exempting the decorative painter Antonio Verrio and his Catholic assistants from religious molestation, and, according to Vertue, ‘he worked there under Verrio 6 or
