English draughtsman. He was trained in Edinburgh in drawing and design by William Delacour (fl 1747). In 1765 he went to London and, after two exhibitions there in 1765 and 1766, he was commissioned by the botanist Joseph Banks to produce drawings of objects collected on a voyage to Newfoundland and Labrador in 1767.
