Benet’s motet Lux fulget ex Anglia, dedicated to St Thomas of Hereford, was probably written for Hereford Cathedral (where Dunstaple was a canon), possibly for the celebrations of the centenary of St Thomas’s canonization in 1420; like Dunstaple, Benet composed a motet for St Alban’s Abbey.
