(b Calcutta or London, 1819; d Torquay, 5 May 1903). English soprano. She studied in France with Bordogni, Tadolini and Claude Thomas Thillon, conductor of the Havre Philharmonic Society, whom she married. After appearances in Le Havre, Clermont and Nantes, she was engaged for the Théâtre de la Renaissance, Paris (Salle Ventadour), making her début there when she created the title role of Grisar’s Lady Melvil on 15 November
