It was founded in Stockholm in 1975 by Jan Wallgren and the music journalist Lars Westin, and from 1983 has been operated by Westin and the writer and producer Leif Collin. By the year 2000 the company had put out 350 albums (half on CD). Entirely dedicated to jazz, Dragon is dominated by Swedish groups and soloists.
