(b ?Kingston, Jamaica, 1943; d Kingston, 6 May 1969). Jamaican trombonist and composer. He was a graduate of Alpha Cottage School, where, following tradition, he taught younger fellow students, including the trombonist Emanuel “Rico” Rodriguez. Later he played big-band swing with the saxophonists Eric Deans and Roy Colbourn (Cobourne, or Coburn; sources disagree) and bop after hours.
