The problem of designing dynamic output-feedback controllers for singularly perturbed discrete systems using reduced-order models is reconsidered in the paper. A sufficient condition that guarantees the robustness of the stability of the closed-loop system designed on the basis of its related reduced-order sybsystem is given. The gain matrices of the dynamic output feedback controller are determined via the simultaneous computation of the static output-feedback gain matrices for the fast subsystem and the so-called auxiliary system of the slow subsystem. The exact upper bound of the singular-perturbation parameter for the controlled system is also calculated. Finally, an example is examined.
