One year after the original claim, Apple finally obtained a preliminary injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, enforcing a tablet design patent in the United States. This case, as well as the proceedings brought by Apple against Samsung in various European countries, shows that the effectiveness of preliminary relief is hindered by the complexity of the tests and evaluations involved in dealing with design patents.
