An inflammatory myopathy presentation is often straight-forward to recognize; however careful evaluation is needed to make a specific diagnosis. This chapter discusses the clinical features, differential diagnosis, investigations, and management of polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and (the often overlooked) inclusion body myositis.
