Case 19 introduces an 11 year-old girl of Italian descent with snoring and apneas witnessed by her mother when co-sleeping. Medical history showed allergic rhinitis, asthma, and polycystic ovarian disease as well as Type-2 diabetes, and adenoidectomy 12 months previous for recurrent ear infections; current medications included desloratidine, metformin, and montelukast by mouth, and budesonide, fluticasone-salmeterol, and albuterol by inhaler.
