A variety of organisms are mentioned, these either not closely related to groups in earlier chapters or free-living to opportunistically infect man. The parasites are presented usually under their most important clinical presentation, the fungi separately as a group. As usually rare these infections do not often generate suspicion among health providers, often are difficult to differentiate from more common infections, yet some can be fatal if misdiagnosed.
