Show Summary Details

Pain is common in cancer but not universal. It affects up to 70% of patients. The good news is that despite these initially discouraging statistics, relatively simple approaches can manage the majority of patients’ pain effectively. These approaches have many features in common with many outlined elsewhere in this volume, and to avoid duplication in this brief overview detailed discussion of the various pain types, drug groups and treatments will not be repeated here.
