A 43-year-old woman underwent elective Caesarean section for placenta praevia 36 weeks into her second pregnancy. She was readmitted 10 days after delivery with pneumonia and oral moxifloxacin was started. Two days later, she developed diarrhoea and vomiting, and admission blood cultures grew Streptococcus pneumoniae. She was treated with cyclizine and domperidone, and moxifloxacin was continued.
