A 68-year-old retired book keeper with alcoholic liver disease was seen in the gastroenterology clinic with symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux. She had then remained abstinent of alcohol, with improvement in her liver function. She had also had a mastectomy for breast cancer 3 years before.
