A 68-year-old woman presented with a 10-day history of a flu-like illness followed by a week of jaundice. She complained of lethargy, myalgia, and nausea, but no vomiting. She had lost no weight. She lived on a small holding with her husband and kept livestock, including sheep and goats. She had epilepsy for which she was taking carbamazepine.
