A 73-year-old woman was admitted to the trauma ward with a fractured neck of femur after falling from her chair. Despite fixation surgery with a good technical result, her rehabilitation was slow and she complained of generalized muscle aches. Her past medical history was unremarkable apart from anaemia, treated with three-monthly B12 injections.
