I think I differ from some of my colleagues on some basic assumptions about the nature of the medical profession, psychiatry as a discipline and the concepts of health and illness. I will not fully justify my positions, but simply state them to highlight differences in basic conceptual assumptions between me and other contributors, and then I'll relate them to my specific recommendations about the DSM.
