. . . accumulated evidence has indicated that human reaginic antibodies are associated with γ‎E-globulin. . . . Since the major protein components in reagin-rich fractions so far studied were γ‎G- and/or γ‎A-globulin, further purification of γ‎E-globulin in the fractions was attempted to study the relationship between it and reaginic activity, with use of purified ragweed allergen. Although the protein has not been isolated, reagin-rich preparations were obtained in which the antibody against the allergen was associated with γ‎E-globulin alone.
