Low testosterone is associated with an increased risk of early mortality in the majority of population studies. Low testosterone in some studies is linked to cardiovascular death. Low testosterone is a strong biomarker of ill health. Testosterone replacement therapy improves cardiovascular risk factors. Testosterone replacement in two retrospective studies is associated with improved survival.
