Hypogonadism, particularly late-onset hypogonadism, is a common condition that is underdiagnosed. The primary care physician is ideally placed to make the initial diagnosis. It is important that the diagnosis and underlying cause are established by a specialist primary care physician or an appropriate secondary care specialist. Testosterone replacement therapy can transform people’s lives, significantly improving the quality of life of the individual and also of their families. Therapy can also save marriages and partnerships.
