Arteriovenous malformationss are characterized by direct arterial-venous connections and may include aneurysms. The most common presenting findings are: headache, seizures, and hemorrhage. Risk factors for subsequent hemorrhage include hemorrhage on presentation, older age, deep venous drainage pattern, deep brain location, and associated aneurysms.
