Supraventricular tachycardia is a generic term encompassing various arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. This chapter focuses on paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. This arrhythmia is among the most commonly encountered in general cardiology practice, and the 3 most common forms are atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia, atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia, and atrial tachycardia.
